"I Will Always Write Back" Literature Unit

"I Will Always Write Back" by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda is a memoir that tells a heartwarming true story of a friendship that forms from a school pen-pal program. Caitlin, from the United States, and Martin, from Zimbabwe develop a meaningful friendship from afar. The book is a true inspiration of a relationship that is full of empathy and a deep connection that builds regardless of distance and cultural differences. The "I Will Always Write Back" Literature Unit includes 44 pages of follow up work, a book(s), a work journal, color pencils, and pencil sharpener.  Each chapter reading includes vocabulary words for each chapter with a different activity. The activities include various writing prompts, Zimbabwe country study, character sketch, compare and contrast, letter outline and writing, character interview, creating a diorama, cereal box project, college research, Africa research, and creating a movie trailer.
