Lesson Intentions: The "BFG" Literature Unit includes the following work: vocabulary on each chapter; questions; metaphor work; making a dream jar; Homonym work; Whizzpopper game; dream journaling; giant ears sound activity; word twisters; proofreading work; Frobscottle and Whizzpoppers Fizzing Science Experiment; scene creation; dream mixing; country mini research project; illustrating a story scene; positive, negative, and neutral words; royal breakfast activity; character description sketch; compare and contrast; and directions for a diorama end of book project.
Material included: The "BFG" Literature Unit includes 47 pages of work, a book(s), a work journal, scissors, color pencils, and pencil sharpener.
Roald Dahl’s book, “BFG” tells the story of Sophie, a brave orphan girl, who is whisked away by the Big Friendly Giant and joins him on a mission to stop the man‑eating giants who terrorize the world. Themes: Friendship, courage, imagination, and standing up to bullies and injustice.
