All About Lines Geometry Kit
Lesson Intentions: This kit will guide your child/student in understanding different types of lines with hands-on activities and lessons on the following nomenclature: point, line, ray, segment, straight and curved lines, horizontal and vertical lines, oblique lines, parallel lines, perpendicular lines, intersecting lines, and divergent and convergent lines. Activities include using a hands-on application to better understand line nomenclature. This kit will increase your child’s/student’s confidence in line geometry.
Ages: Activities can be started as early as Kindergarten and be used through third grade.
Kit Includes: Illustrated lesson plan with five different activities (18 pages including worksheets and answer sheet), 6 follow up worksheets, a 12 x 12 in. corkboard, 4 geometry sticks (2 longer ones of the same length and 2 smaller ones of varying lengths), a pencil sharpener, string, a counter (different colors in each kit), a plumb line (string with weight), a sharpie marker, a ruler, a small tin container with 8 thumbtacks, 1 right triangle inset, laminated labels for different types of lines, scissors, 2 matchbox cars, a journal, and color pencils.
