Poetry Kit

Ages: Elementary to Middle School (some activities can be used as early as kindergarten).

Lesson Intentions: This kit will provide your child/student activities to understand and create the following types of poems: Diamante, Similes (two activities), Haiku, Limerick, Acrostic, Metaphors, Hink pinks (three activities), Hyperbole, Onomatopoeia, Personification, Idioms (two activities), Proverbs, Sonnets, Free Verse, Narrative Poetry, Lyrical, Ballad, end of unit review, and an end of unit poetry gallery walk. There are a few later activities that you can decide to do over multiple days.

Kit Includes: Twenty-four different activities (50 pages including worksheets and answer sheet) scissors, pencil, pencil sharpener, and a journal. This kit can be purchased with or without the slightly used hardback book, "Daniel Finds a Poem".
