"Out of my Heart" Literature Unit

Lesson Intentions: "Out of my Heart" is the wonderful sequel story to "Out of my Mind," by Sharon M. Draper. The "Out of my Heart" Literature Unit includes work on each chapter reading including vocabulary words for each chapter and various activities. The activities include the following: journal prompts, language creations, animal report template, sensory box creation, vision board or diorama, camp brochure design, art and design prompts, sequence of events, personification, poetry, adjective work, boat parts, leaf characteristics, music assignment, team creation activity, parts of a horse, gravity experiment, making predictions, and a fun end of the book project.

Material included: 48 pages of follow up work, a book(s), a work journal, color pencils, and pencil sharpener.
